In collaboration with the UN and two other international organizations, Saint Yared Hospital Holding, P.L.C., organized, hosted and funded the first International Continuing Medical Education (CME) Conference in Ethiopia on April 11-12 2008.  It was held at the Headquarter of the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) in Addis Ababa.  The Conference involved a series of guest lectures on various technical topics given by leading experts from the US, Europe and Ethiopia.  The event proved to be a valuable forum of learning and exchange of expertise.  The success of this workshop and the positive response received from participants regarding its usefulness has further bolstered plans to establish an ongoing CME program in Ethiopia.
