Dr. Akeza Teame earned an Associate degree of Arts from Hesston College, a BS in genetics from the University of Kansas and his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Kansas School Of Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal medicine and a Fellowship in Infectious Diseases (ID) at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. Dr. Akeza is double board-certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases (ID). He is also one of the six panel physicians in Ethiopia chosen by the CDC and the American Embassy to conduct medical evaluation for the US Embassy visa applicants. Dr. Akeza is the co-founder and Medical Director of Saint Yared Hospital Holdings, P.L.C.

Dr Guetahoun Yetbarek is a French-Ethiopian Surgeon, who earned his Doctor of Medicine and General surgery specialty training at the Bordeaux University in France. He also completed his trauma and orthopedic specialty training at the same university. He has been practicing orthopedic and trauma surgery for the past 22 years. He has worked in France (Centre Hospitalier Pasteur de Langon), in Ethiopia (Armed Forces General Hospital) and as a French government medical expert in Central African Republic and in Comoros Archipelago. He has been an associate member of the French Orthopaedic and Traumatologic Association (SOFCOT) since 1990. He has joined Saint Yared General Hospital to head the surgical department and perform Orthopedic and Trauma Surgery full-time.

Dr. Derese Eshetu earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Certificate of Specialty in Surgery from Addis Ababa Medical Faculty. He has worked as a General Practitioner in the Ministry of Defense Hospital from 1990-1997. Dr. Derese completed a residency training in General Surgery from 1998-2002. He has worded in South East command Hospital as a General Surgeon as well as the department head for Department Surgery. He has also served as the Medical Director of the South East Command Hospital from January, 2005 – October, 2008. He joined the Saint Yared General Hospital in November, 2008 as a full-time General Surgeon.

Dr. Mikael Amdemariam graduated from Jimma Institute of Health Services and earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD). After practicing Medicine in the public sector, he joined Addis Ababa University and completed residency training in Pediatrics and Child Health. He has practiced in his field of specialty since 2004. He decided to join Saint Yared General Hospital because of its commitment to be the center of excellence.

Dr. Hailegeorgis Aytenfisu earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Gondar College of Medical Science in 1991. He worked as a General Practitioner and Health Service Administrator at Pawi Hospital and Wolkite Health Center. He then joined the Department of OB/GYN at Addis Ababa University Medical Faculty and completed his residency training in Obstetrics/Gynecology in 2001. Before joining the Saint Yared General Hospital, he worked as a fistula surgeon at the Addis Ababa Fistula Hospital.

Dr. Wajahat Kaiser earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from Liaquat University of Medical Sciences in Pakistan. She has completed her multispecialty training at the Christian Hospital in the areas of GYN, Pediatrics, Surgery, Medicine as well as Anesthesiology. In the year 2000, Dr. Wajahat completed an OB/GYN residency training program at the College of Physicians and Surgeons. She is also a registered member at the College of Physician and Surgeon Pakistan since 2002 where she worked as OB/GYN specialist for 6 years. Dr. Wajahat joined Saint Yared General Hospital in April, 2008 as an OB/GYN specialist.

Dr. Selam Tewolde earned her Doctor of Medicine from Addis Ababa University Medical Faculty and completed her multidisciplinary internship training in Internal Medicine, Gynecology, Obstetrics, Pediatrics and Child Health and Surgery at the Black Lion Hospital. She has worked at the Saint Yared Higher Clinic treating a wide range of patient population. She is also one of the six panel physicians in Ethiopia chosen by the CDC and the American Embassy to conduct medical evaluation for the US Embassy visa applicants. She continues to work at the Saint Yared General Hospital as a full-time clinician.

Dr. Dereje Getachew earned his Doctor of Medicine from Jimma University Medical Faculty and joined the Ministry of Defense at the North Command Military Referral Hospital from 2004-2007. There he served as Department Head of Surgery, capable of doing emergency surgical procedures including Caesarian Sections, laparatomies, and handling trauma patients. He has a great deal of experience working in international settings. He was Medical Director of United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) Level-1 Hospital in Zwedru, from April 2006 – January, 2007. He also served as a Deputy Medical Center Director at the SOS Gode MCH, Somali regional state from March 2008 - October 2008. He joined the Saint Yared General Hospital in November 2008 as a full-time clinician.

Dr. Abebe Alemayehu earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the Addis Ababa University Medical Faculty and completed his multidisciplinary internship training in Internal Medicine, Gynecology, Obstetrics, Pediatrics and Child Health and Surgery at the Saint Paul and Armed Forces Hospital. He then provided a public service at the Shashemene General Hospital where he worked as a General Practitioner (GP) for five years. Dr. Abebe has worked in various public health initiatives including ENARP at the Akaki Field Station. Dr. Abebe joined Saint Yared General Hospital to participate in the vision of providing services of excellence to the Ethiopian population.
